Off airport operations and prop damage
When you operate your airplane out of dirt strips or beaches the propeller can pick up small stone and debris. The propeller generates a vortex and sucks the debris up and can damage the propeller. The following photos show how much dust is kicked up, how the propeller sucks up dirt and the holes the propeller suction creates on the ground. Therefore it is important to check the propeller carefully on the pre flight for kicks

and erosion.
